Here are some pictures of the nursery. I will post pictures and details of the projects in my next post!

Ignore the mess on the sides, I was putting away all of his newborn stuff :(. And the other side is the paper lanterns for his mobile I still need to make.

This wall is going to have the monogram letters on it that are sitting on the chair right now and I'm going to make a couple of collages for either side of the letters. I will get those up as soon as I get them done!

His armoire with chalkboard paint...probably one of my favorite projects and pieces in the room!

My cousin made this banner with his name on it for the baby shower! She had no idea that this was the exact fabric of his bedding she just knew the colors! Love it!

New things...

Brody has started to do some new little things the past couple of days that crack me up!

• Yesterday he was laying on his play mat and I hear him making this noise that sounds like a kiss/smack and I look down and he was doing some weird thing with his tongue. I tried to get a video of him yesterday and today doing it but of course when I get my phone out he stops lol. I think I might have gotten it some yesterday but the video is really long and mostly of him just kicking and stuff lol.
• Today I was trying to get all my garage sale stuff marked and wasn't paying very much attention to him while he was on the floor on his play mat, every once in awhile when he wanted attention he would make a little coughing noise until I talked to him lol. Then I would start marking my stuff again and a few mins later he would do it again. Yup he already has his mama wrapped around his finger & it is so cute! lol

Tummy Sleeping???

Ok, so I know that "they" say that baby's should always sleep on their backs but what do you do when you baby sleeps better on his tummy? When we were all growing up our parents always put is on our tummies and we are still here right? I am absolutely TERRIFIED of SIDS but Brody sleeps SO much better on his tummy it seems. I don't put him on his tummy very often, usually the second time he wakes up which is anywhere between 5-7 am I will put him on his tummy to go back to sleep and sometimes for naps if I put him on the floor on a blanket or his play mat thing on his tummy he falls asleep better. I don't want to put him at risk for SIDS but I also want him to get good sleep so what do I do? Advice appreciated!!

2 Month Update & 2 Month Favorites

WOW! I cannot believe that little B is ALREADY 2 months old...where does the time go!! This has definitely been the hardest, greatest, most fun & challenging 2 months of my life I think but I wouldn't change it for the world! We absolutely love getting to know our little boy and being his parents! I never imaged JUST how awesome being a mom would be, I wouldn't change it for the world!! Here are some updates on little man!

• At his 2 month check up appointment he weighed 12 lbs 6 oz (OMG Chunky boy! He weighed 6 lbs 14 oz at birth in case you want to calculate that yourself! lol) He was 22.4 inches long (19 inches at birthday).  So that makes him in the 76th percentile for weight and 38th percentile for height...short and chubby like his daddy lol.
• He is now up to eating 4 oz about every 3 hrs or so
• He sleeps about 4 hours at a time during the night before he wakes up and wants to eat...we still never get to bed most nights before 12...sometimes if we are lucky it's between 11-11:30 but that doesn't happen too often. (What I would give to be the hubby some nights just so I get to go to bed at 10 and sleep all night lol)
• We get LOTS of smiles now...I absolutely love it! Totally makes worth being up super late and not getting much sleep worth it during the day when I get big smiles!
• Everyone still says he looks like his daddy...poor kid haha just kidding. If you look at baby pictures he looks like both of us cause we were both chunky babies! lol
• Pretty sure he's got his daddy's blue eyes (YES!!! I love them lol) everyone on my dad's side of the family has blue eyes too so I think he had a good chance lol.
• I still have not mustered up the courage to put him in his bed at night...it's way on the other side of the house I just can't do it! lol especially with him still waking up at night it's much more comfortable for me to feed him in bed...and a part on the glider in his room broke and I can't find the replacement part!!! If anyone knows where to find replacement parts for Moash gliders let me know!
• He also cooes and "talks" quite a bit...we have fun conversations during the day I tell ya! lol
•  He only enjoys tummy time for just a little bit before he gets mad because he can't hold his head up very long yet and he doesn't like not being able to see. He LOVES to kick things...which usually happens to be my legs or computer when he is laying by me lol I really need to go find him some things to kick that make noise lol
• He loooooves looking at fans & lights. I think bright colors are pretty fun for him too!
• I am FINALLY going to start trying to lose the rest of the baby weight so there may be posts about that on here too!!

Now some 2 month favorites:

We still love our Boppy Pillow! It is also good for Tummy Time so he can look around lol 

Gripe Water
This stuff is GREAT to get rid of hiccups, you are suppose to give 2 of the droppers but his hiccups are usually gone after one dropper. It's a little expensive but we've had it for about a month so it's worth it (maybe not expensive to some but 10 bucks on a little 4 oz bottle of water is a bit ridiculous for my cheapness lol) It also works pretty well when his tummy hurts. But most definitely is awesome with those darn hiccups cause the make him so mad! lol

Tommee Tippe Pacifiers  
These are the binky's we have used from the beginning and he seems to really like them. I bought some Nuk ones yesterday because we needed one more so I didn't have to steal one from another place (we have one in the pack n play, one in his crib & one in his car seat & we needed one to just use around the house so one of the others didn't get lost in the process lol) the Nuk ones are pretty good too. I don't think he's too picky lol.

 Those are really the only things that I think are new this month from the last month favorites. If I think of anything else I will add them later!
Some of our favorite places to shop right now are Carters & Target, Carters stuff seems to always fit him really well and not be super baggy which drives me NUTS! lol We also like Resale shops and I am suuuuuuuuuper excited for the Rhea Lana (clicky the linky to check them out and see if they are coming close to you!) cosignment sale that is coming in a few weeks...TONS of great stuff for babies from furniture, clothes, bedding, pretty much ANYTHING you need for baby, toddler, & maternity. I got so much great stuff from the last one (I think I had about 2 bags full) and spent like $60 bucks! Can't beat that!!!

6 Weeks...

I cannot believe this cute little thing.....

And I also cannot believe that the first picture was taken SIX WEEKS ago. I can't believe that Brody is going to be 6 weeks old this week!!
I had my 6 week check up today and everything is going good! I am excited that I can work out now...I just need to figure out a good routine now! If anyone has any good routines let me know! I really need to work on my legs and belly. I've never been good in the past about sticking with exercise so I am hoping that I will this time and hopefully my hubby with do it with me and help and encourage me instead of just telling me I need to work out but not helping me out!
I am also so excited that I am going to get to stay home with him & also watch a couple of kids! I feel so blessed to be this little guys mama and even more blessed that I will get to spend lots of time with him and not have to miss out on things with him like I thought I would! I definitely believe God worked it out!
Tonight my husband told me we have a year until we start trying for the next one...we will see about that!

One Month & Some Favorites

Today little man is ONE MONTH old, I cannot believe it! One month already, it has definitely been the most sleep deprived month of my life I think but so totally worth it! Being a mommy is the best thing ever, I love spending every minute of everyday with this little guy, even if all he does is sleep right now! lol
Some things we have discovered this month:

• This boy likes to sleep...A LOT, I didn't realize that he would sleep this much during the day, I mean literally almost all day! And then he wants to stay up until 1 am, or 2....or 3! But usually 1 which isn't too bad I guess but I am so ready for him to be awake more so that we can get a routine of some sorts.
• I knew while I was pregnant that I would probably not want to go back to work, but then when he came along that turned into REALLY not wanting to go back, being a mommy is the best job ever...we just have to convince daddy of that now :)
• He also likes to eat a lot....pretty sure he got that from his dad! lol He will usually eat about every 2-3 hours...I try to make him go 3 unless he just gets really upset and sometimes that happens at an hour and a half but not too often!
• At his 2 week appointment he weighed 8lbs 2oz (his birth weight was 6lbs 14oz) and he was 19 3/4" long (19" at birth) so he is a growing boy! I kind wish he would grow longer when he gains weight cause no pants fit him so he just has to wear onesies all the time with no shorts...and he has some really cute shorts dang it!!
• It's impossible to sleep when he sleeps....cause I would sleep all the time! I did that for the first week probably and still sleep a little later than I probably should most days because he keeps me up late! I know people tell me to enjoy this time with him and cuddle with him (which I do do A LOT lol) but I also can't let my house go to crap! So I just try to do a few things each day so I never have to spend a whole day cleaning the house, which stinks cause it seems like that's all I do, clean house, take care of baby, take care of hubby, cook, do laundry...but I wouldn't trade it for the world, I think I have become to semi enjoy cleaning and laundry lol.
• He enjoys tummy time...sometimes. You can definitely tell when he's over it though because he gets MAD, and sometimes he will even try to turn over the other day I seriously thought he was going too but he hasn't realized yet that his front half has to go with his back half to be able to do it lol. And then half the time tummy time turns into snoozing time, I don't know if he likes to sleep on his back or stomach more...I definitely can't blame him if he likes his stomach more...oh how I love being able to lay on my stomach again!!

Angelcare Monitor

• We haven't used this too much yet because he is still sleeping in our room in a bassinet, but the few times he has slept in his bed for naps I feel like it works really well, if I forget to turn of the monitor when I take him out the alarm will sound so I'm guessing it works! lol A friend told me about this monitor and I read a TON of great reviews about it so I took the one back that we had (it was a video one that was bulky and I couldn't carry it around with me...although I am thankful the girls from work got it for me and it WAS on my registry...I just didn't realize how inconvenient it would be to not be able to carry it around with me) and I definitely love it so far!

The Boppy Pillow

• I love it. He loves it. Daddy loves it. We all love it! It's so great to lay him in while we are sitting on the couch so he doesn't just have to lay on the couch and we can both interact with him (when he's not sleeping of course). It's one of the best things ever, we definitely thank Aunt Linda for it!!!

I also love my phone (iPhone 3GS) I am so glad my hubby bought me a good phone before he came so I have lots of ways to take pictures and share them with people now! Nana and Poppy get a new picture every morning! lol

Graco Pack 'N Play Travel Play Yard - Forest Friends On The Go

• This is what he sleeps in every night in our bedroom, it's nice because it can be used for a bassinet now and as a regular pack n play later on so we will always get use out of it not just for a couple of months like we would with a regular bassinet. I'm guessing he likes it too...and it's cute, not that he cares about that lol. I matches his swing which we also love.
